Wacken Open Air is the biggest heavy metal music festival in Europe, and the number one of every metal fan's wish list.
First held in 1990, Wacken Open Air has been consistently bringing the scene's as well as popular and rising talents to the town of Wacken. Now the festival attracts the superstars of heavy metal, hard rock and more. Wacken went through an awesome transformation from a local fest to the one of the world's greatest music events.
Wacken Open Air's influence goes far beyond its festival gates, while its cultural impact is never understated.
The Wacken Open Air 2021 experience is more than just an spectacular lineup, but with over 150 artists performing across eight stages within 280 hectares, there's plenty of room for 80,000 devoted metalheads from 80 different countriess to headbang till sunrise.
